Indian weddings are very intricate affairs. Obviously, you’ll have to attend various pre-wedding functions- sangeet, mehndi, engagement, wedding and reception. What to wear on these functions? It is a big question you are going to face. But, you need not to worry. I have few suggestions for you for different occasions.
Dress Up Different!
Indian wedding is incomplete with this fun party! You have to dance a lot…so, wear something comfortable. You can put on an elegant salwar kameez. Silky skirt with nice kurta top and chunky accessories will also look gorgeous. As your hands will festoon up with mehndi, a sleeveless/short sleeved tank top is another good option.
It is a family affair. You’ll look great in a conventional sari. Matching jewelry will add on to your gorgeousness. Say a big no to tight dresses and revealing blouses.
For day wedding, bold colored contemporary and traditional saris or lehengha is the best option. If it is a night wedding, you can wear light colored shimmer lehengha or sari with stone work and embroidery. If the bride is going to dress in blue, green, maroon or red, you can go for turquoise, orange, violets or pinks. And, if you don’t know how to wear a sari, no problem! You can buy ‘readymade’ wedding sari. Just clip it together and wrap around once!
For this occasion, you can dress up in designer georgette or net lehenghas or saris. Be wise while doing make-up. Over make-up may ruin your natural beauty. If your skin tone is bright, use golden make-over and if, you have cool complexion, go for silver touch.
Although, all the guests will focus on bride and groom, but, being the best friend of bride, you should look glamorous on all the occasions. You never know, you might come across your prince charming at this wedding!
