Lusting On: Dark Florals

We aren’t putting away florals just yet. Fine, winter is here, and chill in the air makes you want to head to the darker, more pristine shades but here’s the catch… ladies! From Mumbai to Milan, runway across the globe is raging with not so bright and funky shades of blooms that will make you get in the very mood of those chilly nights. The proportions, shapes, design and just about everything looks all ready to welcome winters. While Gucci makes use of emerald lilies and sapphire orchids, closer home, Pankaj and Nidhi design beautifully embroidered jackets using the Polish Wycinanki art to create crocuses and poppies on cloth.

Here’s to flower power

  • Work: Staying subtle at work is important. If you go to your workplace with a lot of print and design, things might not stay as classy as you expect them to be.
  • Casual: If you want to go boho, throw on a maxi skirt with a lot of floral design or a flattering tulle alternative. If you wish to slightly toughen up the decidedly girlie look, put on a leather biker jacket, and you’re all set to go.
  • Formal: If you plan to indulge in head to toe bloom, we woot for you. But then again, not everyone can pull off this bold look. So what you can do is include a scarf, put on one outstanding piece, flaunt your floral shoes, etc.
