With vampires being so in vogue, the popularity of gothic makeup is no surprise. This season, we have seen it everywhere from runways to red carpets. Here’s how you can don this look, and we don’t mean to get you ready for a fancy dress!
P.S. it’s not for the fainthearted!
With the orange and scarlet pouts, another color that registered a strong presence in the fashion world is Oxblood. Oxblood is a combination of Scarlet and Burgundy.
Color palette: burgundy, oxblood, black, muted gold
Accents: matte or velvety sheen
Let’s start with your ‘face’ now!
Step 1- Cleanse the face and use a good toner to prepare it for the makeup.
Step 2- You need a natural but flawless base, coz the intense color attracts a lot of attention to your face. Make sure you conceal the zits or marks without making your face too powdery.
Step 3- Use an apricot or baby pink blush, in a way to highlight your cheekbones. Don’t try to match everything using a burgundy or oxblood blush. It’d look too much!
Step 1- Use an eye primer. Conceal the dark circles properly. Pat a shimmery gold shadow over the crease.
Step 2- Contour the eyes with a muted burgundy eye shadow, and smudge for a smoky look.
Step 3- Line your eyes very slightly with black eye liner, and swipe a few coats of mascara. It’s recommended not to play with the eyes too much, and let the lips do the talking.
Step 1- Apply the primer on your lips, to make the color stay for a long.
Step 2- Line your lips with oxblood lip liner or brush.
Step 3- Glide on the lipstick on your lips evenly. You need not to use the brush for this coz the color has to look intense.
