Normal skin is neither too dry, nor too oily. Usually, you’ll find plenty of write-ups, advice and products for the two skin types listed, but there isn’t much help out there for people with normal skin. However, we are here to change all of it. This article will tell you everything you need to know to make your normal skin glowing and healthy. Here’s the normal skin care routine you must follow-

1. Cleansing

The first step to keep your normal skin looking healthy is to cleanse it thoroughly. Preferably, cleansing must be performed twice a day (using a natural cleanser that is ph balanced). All you need to do is, to cleanse your face for two minutes before rinsing it off- once in the morning before you get started with your day, and once at night before you retire to the bed. Blot dry. You have successfully completed step 1 of your skin care routine.

2. Toning

Cleansing must be immediately followed by toning. Just like step 1, toning, too, has to be performed twice every day. Lavender water or aloe vera juice is the best toner for normal skin. Apply it all over your face and keep it on for 10-12 minutes, so that the skin is able to absorb your toner. Rinse off well.

3.  Moisturizing

Toning has to be followed by moisturizing. For best results, this too must be performed twice a day. We recommend that you use light lotions or moisturizing creams for your normal skin. Even homemade lotions that moisturize your skin well, using essential oils, such as rose, lavender, neroli, etc., will work well on normal skin. Remember to pat dry your skin before you apply the moisturizer. Take suitable quantity and allow your skin to absorb the lotion.

4. Steaming

The fourth step for your skin care routine is steaming. Unlike the above steps, you need to steam your skin only once or twice a week. Herbs such as lavender, calendula and comfrey are suitable for normal skin, so use them for the process.

Boil the required amount of water in a pan and add the herbs and essential oils (rose, lavender, neroli) to it. If you are using herbs, add a tablespoon of the herbs (whichever you wish to use), and if you are using essential oils, add five drops of that essential oil. Now keep your face close to the steaming water and cover a towel around it, so that the steam does not evaporate.

5.  Exfoliating

The fifth and final step in establishing a skin care routine for people with normal skin is exfoliation. An oatmeal scrub, applied once a week, is enough for your skin. You can either purchase it or make it on your own. All you have to do is, rub it gently for some minutes, so that your skin is scrubbed clean. Rinse well.

So ladies, follow these five simple steps to attain that amazing skin, you have desired for long. Stick to this routine for a month and you’ll witness the best of results.

Here’s wishing you a happy skin!
