Crispy Okra Chaat

Spicy and crisp okra chaat, diced in chaat masala… lip smacking starter to serve for an evening party.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ladyfingers (dried and sliced)
  • 100 g gram flour
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 4 tsp chaat masala powder
  • Salt
  • 200 ml oil (deep-frying)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tomato (sliced)
  • ½ onion (sliced)

Method

  • Combine okra with red chili powder, turmeric powder, caraway seeds, salt, chaat masala and gram flour.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the okras till brown and crisp.
  • Drain the excess oil in a tissue paper.
  • Sprinkle lemon juice over the okra.
  • Garnish with onions and tomatoes.
  • Serve hot and crisp.
