The French footwear giant and Disney collaborated to create this masterpiece which was first launched in Paris last month along with the other Haute Couture shows. Louboutin calls Cinderella “not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes.” He describes this mesmerising pair as light, beautiful and transparent. And further adds, “Her character and her story dictated the design to me. It was all there in the pages and the words of this tale.”
The signature red sole of the designer gets one notch better with the glittering Swarovski embellishments, delicate white lace and crystal butterflies. The modern-day restyled avatar has no glass and will be a very limited edition at 20 pairs only. These will be distributed worldwide, the details of which will be given shortly.
Disney had first invited Louboutin to re-picture the epic footwear prior to the release of “Cinderella Diamond Edition”, the classic which was first released in 1950 and will be coming on platform through DVD as well as Blu-ray this fall. Louboutin sums up by saying,
“I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”
