Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 4 ‘rajma-roti’ wraps
Method of Preparation:
- For the Chatpata-Rajma Stuffing
- Heat the oil in a non-sticky kadai(pan). Add in garlic, ginger and onions. Sauté the ingredients on a medium flame until onions become translucent and turn brown. Sprinkle some water to avoid the burning of onions.
- Next, add the chopped tomato, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to taste. Cook it for about 5 to 6 minutes on a medium flame while stirring constantly.
- Now add kidney beans, coriander leaves and salt. Blend well and cook the mixture on a medium flame till wateriness goes out completely. Continue to stir while heating the mixture. Keep aside once you’re done with it.
- Procedure to make the Rajma Roll
- Place an opened chapatti on the plate. Spread one teaspoon of chili-garlic paste (Chutney) evenly over the roti.
- After this, line up (in a row pattern) ¼ of the prepared ‘rajma-stuffing’ in the center of the chapatti. Over the lined up rajma stuffing, spread ¼ of the ‘curd dressing’.
- Arrange 2 tablespoon of chopped spring onion over it. Now roll up the chapatti tightly.
- Make three more such roti-wraps with the remaining ingredients.
- Wrap a tissue paper or aluminium foil around the roti. You can also bind it using a cocktail stick, the way I’ve done.
- Serve immediately or make it a lunch-box dish.
Give an attempt to it; your kid will love this hearty ‘rajma roll’.
