Roughly, at the age of 40 to 59, a woman stops having her regular menstrual cycle. This is called Menopause. Menopause occurs due to a natural decrease in sex hormones, like estrogen and progesterone in our ovaries, and the monthly cycle eventually comes to an end. Due to a decline in the hormones, a number of menopause symptoms occur, like hot flashes, sweating, vaginal dryness, insomnia, mood swings, and even headaches. Menopause may hardly affect some women while others may feel a bit uneasy and irritation due to it. There are a few at-home treatments which can be tried to get rid of the symptoms of menopause.


So, throw off that uneasiness by trying these home remedies, to cure the menopause symptoms naturally.


#1 Black Cohosh


Take ½ to 1 ml of black cohosh tincture around 3 to 4 times in a day. Mix in a glass of juice or even water to make it palatable, while adding taste to it. Black Cohosh may help to control certain menopause symptoms, such as depression, hot flashes, and vaginal dryness. Take it in a routine of 6 weeks. After that, stop taking it for 4 weeks. Then, again start taking it for 6 weeks and then giving a break of 4 weeks.

#2 Sage Tincture


Pour around 3-15 drops of sage tincture into half cup of water or tea. Drink it at least thrice a day. The scientific name of the sage is ‘Salvia officinalis’. It is an herb which has good astringent properties and helps in relieving night sweats during the period of menopause.

#3 Vitamin E Capsules


Take a dose of vitamin E capsules daily. It also helps in giving relief from certain menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes.

#4 Flax Seed


To fight against menopause, grind some flax seeds and mix one to two tablespoons of it with some yoghurt or any cereal. Flax seeds are rich in phytoestrogens. They also contain Omega-3 fatty acids and also help to stabilize the mood.

#5 Include Soy in Your Meal


Have foods that are rich in soy, such as tofu. Eat 200g to 250g of tofu daily. It is highly rich in phytoestrogens which helps to relieve menopause symptoms. Soy foods contain a good amount of isoflavones which helps in getting rid of hot flashes and vaginal dryness while balancing the hormone level.

#6 Chaste Tree Berries


Eat 1 to 2 teaspoons of Chaste-Tree berries once in a day. The berries from Chaste Tree are rich in progesterone and help to maintain it during menopause. The berries also give relief from other symptoms of menopause, like depression and hot flashes. It is also useful in reducing heavy bleeding during the pre-menopause phase.

#7 Have a Warm Water Bath


To prevent hot flashes, take a bath of tepid water every morning, for about 20 minutes.

#8 Exercise Regularly


Regular exercise also reduces certain symptoms of menopause, like hot flashes, mood swings, and of course sleeplessness. Exercising daily will help you a lot to get rid of menopausal symptoms. Besides aerobic exercise, you can even try several relaxation techniques, like yoga, which is a great stress buster.

Note: In order to prevent hot flashes, stay away from hot beverages, coffee, alcohol, smoking, and even spicy foods.
