There are several bollywood celebrities, who have fulfilled their dreams of becoming a mother through ‘adoption’. Hollywood celebrities also added their names to the list of “Celebrity Adoptive Moms”.

1. Raveena Tandon

Raveena Tandon, bollywood actress and National Film Award winner, adopted two daughters- Pooja and Chhaya from her distant cousin. At the time of adoption, the age of these girls was 11 and 8 years, respectively. In 1995, Raveena adopted them as a single mom. In February 2004, she got married to Anil Thadani. After marriage, she became biological mom of a daughter Rasha and a son Ranbir. Both, Pooja and Chhaya are now married.

2. Sushmita Sen

Miss Universe…..gorgeous film actress….a single mother! Sushmita Sen has fulfilled all her roles very beautifully. Star Screen Award, Zee Cine Award, IIFA Award, Film Fare Award and Rajiv Gandhi Award are some of her achievements. But the greatest achievement of her life is two adopted sweet daughters- Renee and Alisah. The adoption of second daughter, Alisah was not easy for Sushmita because the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, 1956 forbid adopting more than one child of the same gender. But, where there’s a will there’s a way. Bombay High Court granted permission to Sushmita for adopting Alisah.

3. Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta, a dimpled bollywood actress, is a mom of 34 girls. Yes, it’s a truth! She adopted these girls from Mother Miracle School, Rishikesh, in the year 2009. She bears all the expenses of their food, education and upbringing. According to Preity, “You’ve no idea how wonderful it feels to hear the excited chatter of all those girls together as they welcome you into their lives.”

4. Shobhana

Bharatanatyam dancer and Malayalam actress Shobhana adopted a daughter from Kerala. The name of her adorable daughter is   Ananthanarayani. She was 6 months old when Shobhana adopted her. Shobhana is a single mother of Ananthanarayani. The baby adoption ceremony was celebrated at the Krishnan Temple at Guruvayur, Kerala.

5. Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman is an Australian film producer, singer and actress. She has faced many twists in her personal life. Nicole, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, adopted a son, Connor Anthony and a daughter, Isabella Jane. After divorce, both children opted to stay with their father, Tom.  Nicole married to Keith Urban. After second marriage, she was born with a daughter named, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban on 7th July, 2008. The couple had their second daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, through surrogacy.

6. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is an American director and actress. She is a world-known celebrity for her elegant look and humanitarian efforts. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have 6 children, 3 of them are adopted. 7 months old, Maddox Chivan, was the first adopted child of Angelina Jolie. She adopted Maddox from Phnom Penh (an orphanage in Cambodia). Later, the couple adopted 6 months old daughter, Zahara, from Addis Ababa (an orphanage in Ethiopia) and 3-years old son, Pax Thien, from Ho Chi Minh City (an orphanage in Vietnam). Angelina is a biological mom of Shiloh Nouvel and twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.

7. Madonna

Madonna is an American actress, dancer, songwriter and singer. Madonna adopted a son, David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie, from Africa. Before adopting David, legally, Madonna and Ritchie served as foster parents for eighteen months. Later on, she adopted a daughter, Mercy James, from Africa. Madonna is a biological mother of a son, Rocco and a daughter, Lourdes.
