How nice it’d be if you get to buy Sonam Kapoor’s clothes! After all, she is the much loved fashion queen, and we adore her dressing, don’t we? So ladies, get armed coz this Christmas, Sonam is playing Santa by selecting 50 precious clothing pieces from her own wardrobe to be sold online for charity.
The clothes will be available at pernia Quereshi’s online store perniaspopupshop. Pernia Quereshi is the one who is responsible for the styling of Sonam in Aisha. Soon after, Sonam got the iconic status in the fashion industry.
Sonam is delighted for her moment of cause at this fashion juncture,“People always say I’m a fashion icon, but my status is useless if I can’t help somebody,” Kapoor says, adding, “I purposely chose clothes that the public and the media would remember, and we hope to be able to raise enough money to educate about 300 underprivileged children.”
The 50 pieces will include the red and white Anamika khanna ensemble, which bagged a lot of compliments at Sonam’s L’Oreal brand ambassador event and the timeless white ruffle halter dress, which featured in the derby scene from the movie Aisha. The clothes will be the storyteller of Sonam’s story of transformation. “The clothes only date back from about three years ago, and I’ve changed sizes so much during that time,” Sonam reveals. “We were shooting in a dress that I had bought only a year ago, and we realized it was already one size too large. But this way there’s something for everyone too.”
Pernia assures that the clothes will be as good as new. Sonam kapoor is a red carpet regular, and hence, she can’t afford to wear one piece more than once. Sonam will be writing personalized thank you note with each outfit, to thank the buyer.
Santa-for-a-cause will be going live on pernia’s popup shop from December 24th. The range will consist of casuals ranging from 1000 INR to designer wears upto 40000 INR. All money received from this will go to smile foundation.
