In a fast paced life, it becomes difficult to feed children on healthy and delicious meals. Preparing healthy dishes is really a challenging task for a working mom. But your tight schedule not gonna be a problem anymore! Here are 5 tasty healthy recipes that are truly healthy and take a few minutes to make.

1. Delicious Tangy Veggie Sandwich



  • Multigrain bread – 4 slices
  • Coriander-mint (Dhaniya-pudina) chutney – ½ cup
  • Butter
  • Sliced tomato and cucumber- 1 medium sized of each
  • Boiled and sliced potatoes- 2 large sized
  • Fresh ground black and red pepper
  • Salt

Method of Preparation

  1. Coat bread slices with butter evenly.
  2. Spread a good amount of mint-coriander chutney on one side of bread slice.
  3. Layer all the vegetables and spray pepper and salt as per your taste.
  4. Cover it with another slice of bread and cut into half.
  5. Ready to serve.


  • Toasted bread can also be used to make these sandwiches.
  • You may add veggies of your choice to make it more delicious.

 2. Yum Paneer Sandwich



  • Slices of brown/ white bread
  • Cottage paneer/ shredded paneer – 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  • Butter- 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped 1 tomato, 2 chillies and 1 large onion
  • Salt- to taste

Method of Preparation

  1. Heat a pan. Then, add butter to it.
  2. When butter melts, add cumin seeds first, followed by onion and green chillies.
  3. When onion turns golden brown, add paneer and tomatoes. Cook all the ingredients for the next 5 minutes and turn the flame off.
  4.  Spread butter on one side of bread slices and then top it up with cooked mixture of paneer. Wrap it with another slice of bread.  Then toast or grill it, till it turns golden.
  5. Serve the sandwich hot with tomato ketchup.

 3. Mushroom Burger



  • Vegetable oil- 2 tbsp
  • Diced onion- 1
  • Minced garlic- 1 clove
  • Diced fresh mushroom- ¾ cup
  • Cumin- ½ tsp
  • French beans- 2 cup
  • Parsley- 1 tsp
  • Pepper and salt- to taste
  • Olive oil- 2 tbsp

 Methods of Preparation

  1. Saute garlic and onion in olive oil for 5 minutes, until onion turns brown and soft.
  2. Then, add green chopped chillies, mushroom and cumin. Cook for next 5 minutes, until mushrooms get fully cooked.
  3. Now, add parsley and beans. Sprinkle pepper and salt.
  4. Shape the prepared mixture into patties.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a pan and cook all the patties well.
  6. Mushroom burger is ready.

Tip: In absence of mushroom, boiled potatoes can be used.

4. Colorful Dosa



  • Rice- 1 cup
  • Toor dal- ½ cup
  • Channa dal- 2 tbsp
  • Finely chopped spinach- 1 cup
  • Dry red chillies- 4
  • Ginger- 1 inch
  • Asafoetida(hing)- ¼ tsp
  • Salt- to taste
  • Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Oil

Method of Preparation

  1. Wash and soak both dals and rice for 2-3 hours.
  2. Grind them with dry red chillies, spinach, cumin seeds, ginger, salt, asafoetida and required amount of water to make a coarse batter.
  3.  Fermentation is not required. So, you can begin making dosas immediately, as you’re done with making batter.
  4. Make circular dosas out of prepared batter.
  5. Pour oil on a flat non-stick tawa and cook each dosa, till it becomes crispy.
  6. Serve hot with green or coconut chutney.
