The Spring/Summer runways for 2013 are filled with pantsuits, with every colour and type: over sized, bold coloured, printed, classic, and even sheer. The new gen pantsuits have redefined what all the previous characterisations of the ensemble have projected till now, making it fit and fabulous for the women of the 21st century.
Where Alexander McQueen (whose clothing is honey inspired) and Andrew Gn gave the trousers a makeover in cropped above the ankle style; Elizabeth and James Balmain brought in jackets that were super sized. Micro organism prints by Ashish N Soni have blood platelets, and if you choose something sophisticated and sleek over anything else, go for Simmons’s Dior blues and Derek Lam’s bold colours, for 10 Crosby dress. Jil Sander and Celine have pushed the limits and offered shin-grazing avatars that were between the coat and jacket.
However, Indian summers would be more fun and lighten up with transparent clothing. Arjun Saluja, Rohut Gandhi, and Rahul Khanna and Namrata Joshipura worked in floating layers.
Despite the wide array of pantsuits, one attribute that stood common in all was the new- stylish- pantsuit that has evolved incredibly, from the boring boardroom- uniform, popular in the 90’s. The casual, cool, and no fuss Version 20.13 is apt for every new age woman.
