1. Castor Oil
Massaging the chest with castor oil is a beneficial cure for bronchitis. It reduces chest pain.
2. Turpentine Oil
Massage your chest with turpentine oil, when you feel stiffness in the chest or shortness of breath.
Form a paste by mixing 250 ml of water, one Tsp of honey, 50 grams of spinach leaves, and a pinch of ammonium chloride. Drink this expectorant on the daily basis.
4. Salt Water
Add a Tsp of salt in the lukewarm water. Stir it well. Use it to gargle. It will reduce constriction in your chest.
5. Ginger and Honey
Blend ½ Tsp powder each of pepper, ginger, and clove. Add one Tsp of honey in it.
Mix one Tsp of turmeric powder in ½ a glass of warm milk. Consume it 2-3 times a day.
7. Bay Leaf (Tejpatta)
Boil 1-2 Bay leaves in a cup of water. Strain it. Drink it. Alternatively, soak some leaves in hot water. Apply to your chest, and cover with a warm towel. It will provide relief in the bronchitis.
Note- Pregnant women should not practice this remedy.
Take out the juice of onion. Drink it early in the morning. This home remedy not only liquefies the phlegm but also checks its further formation.
9. Cabbage Juice
Consume the juice of fresh cabbage on the daily basis. It is considered to be effective for bronchitis.
10. Liquorice Root (Mulhati)
Boil ½ Tsp of liquorice root in a cup of water for at least 10 minutes. Filter the liquid. Drink it warm. For best results, have it three times a day.
Prepare a powder of 7-8 almonds. Mix in a cup of lemon or orange juice. Have it at night, before going to bed.
12. Sesame Seeds
Take ½ Tsp of sesame seeds and ground it to form a powder. Blend it with two Tsp of water. Consume it twice a day. It’s an effective home remedy to treat bronchitis.
13. Epsom Salt
Fill lukewarm water in the bathtub. Add Epsom salt to it. During bronchitis attack, for at least twenty minutes, remain immersed in it. This effective remedy provides respite from nasal congestion.
- Drink a lot of water and fruit juices. It helps in soothing your throat.
- Practice yoga regularly if you are suffering from chronic bronchitis.
- Take plenty of rest.
