Arthritis is a disease, which is associated with the joints. There are more than 100 types of arthritis. Patient suffering from arthritis (any type) experiences swelling, stiffness, and pain in the joints. Redness of the skin and inflammation around a joint are some other symptoms. Some types of arthritis are inherited or genetic. A trauma or an injury may also lead to arthritis. Proper medications and physical activities can reduce arthritis. Below are 12 home remedies for reducing arthritis. These remedies are useful for all types of arthritis.
Mix 1 tbsp of honey and ½ tsp of cinnamon oil in a cup of warm water. Drink it on an empty stomach, in the morning. Drink it repeatedly for several days, for effective results. Alternatively, form a paste of honey and cinnamon. Gently rub on the painful area.
2. Epsom Salt
Take 1/2 cup of warm water. Add equal quantity of fresh lemon juice and Epsom salt. Take one tsp in the morning and at night. Another option is to mix 3-4 cups of Epsom salt in hot bathwater. Take a bath with it. It will provide you the respite from arthritis pain.
3. Flax Seed
Consume 1 tbsp of flax seeds, 2-3 times a day. You can combine the flax seeds in your cereal, vegetable or fruit juice, and read or other meal. Else, take 1 tsp of flax seed oil thrice a day.
Consume 500-1000 mg turmeric capsules thrice a day. Alternate option is to add a tbsp of turmeric powder to lukewarm milk, and drink it before sleeping.
Massage the painful area with ginger oil, on a daily basis. You can also eat raw ginger. This is the best home remedy for alleviating arthritis.
Eat 8-10 cherries daily. Alternatively, you can prepare syrup of cherries, by boiling them in water. Consume it continuously, for a few months.
7. Apple Cider Vinegar
Slightly heat the apple cider vinegar. Apply on your joints before going to bed. It will reduce the pain.
You can use the castor oil, mustard oil, eucalyptus oil or coconut oil for getting rid of arthritis. Take any oil and warm it. Apply it on the painful area. Wrap with a plastic. Apply heat with the help of steaming towels. It will provide you a great relief.
9. Green Gram (Moong Dal)
Prepare soup of green gram. Consume it along with the crushed garlic cloves. Consume it regularly. It works wonder for arthritis.
Banana is rich in Vitamin B. Eat 1-2 banana regularly. It reduces stiffness of the joints, decreasing the arthritis pain.
11. Cod Liver Oil
Add a tbsp of cod liver oil to a glass of orange juice. Drink it. It is rich in Omega 3 fatty acid and Vitamin C, which are helpful for treating arthritis.
