So many talented authors write fictional novels. Out of them, only some manage to become successful best-selling authors, but here, I will mention 10 authors who are better than the rest.

This list is based on:

  • Authors who had written number of fiction novels and books that were sold
  • How many among them became the number one bestseller
  • From how long these writers are delighting their readers

Other than these, the factors that get them into this list are, how many novels were made into films, how many literary awards were received, and how well did they influenced the readers with their piece of  writing.

1) Stephan King


He is an American, contemporary author to write horror, fantasy, and science fiction. Till date, 350 million copies of books have been sold. Many books by him have been adapted into movies, comic books, and television series. King received many awards for his contribution in the field of writing, World Fantasy Award, Bram Stoker Awards, Nebula Award, and many more. He was an English writer, philologist and poet, famous for his epic fiction novels, Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion and Hobbit. His son Christopher published his works based on the unpublished manuscripts and extensive notes, after his death. He was popularly been identified as the ‘Father’ of modern high fantasy literature. Forbes listed him as being the fifth top earning dead celebrity, in 2009.  He got ‘Local Award for the Best Fantasy Novel’, ‘Prometheus Hall of Fame award’, and more. ‘The Lord of the Rings’ was adapted into movies.

He is an American author, and famous for writing the thriller novels. He is popularly known for the fictional character of Psychologist, Alex Cross. The other popular novels are, ‘Angels and Demons’, ‘The Lost Symbol’, ‘Deception Point’, Digital Fortress’, and more.  Out of these, ‘Angels and Demons’ and ‘The Lost Symbol’ are also adapted in movies. He is an English horror fiction writer, who continuously has had success in his books, and he manages to write down a new work of fiction every year. His latest book was ‘Ash’; it released in 2011. She is an American author for Gothic fiction, erotica, and Christian literature. She is known for her influential and popular series of novels- The Vampire Chronicles, which was later adapted into movies, ‘Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles’, and ‘Queen of the Damned’. Other fictional works by her are- ‘Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana’ and ‘Christ of Lord: Out of Egypt’. Her books have sold more than 100 million copies, which place her in the most admired authors in current American history.
