6 DIY Tips for Stronger and Healthier Hair

Proper and nurturing care for hair is the biggest problem that most women face. Sometimes, you really need to depend upon home remedies to cure these hair troubles, as shampoos and conditioners alone cannot fulfill the requirements.

So, here are the tested and proven home remedies for healthy and strong hair.

#1 For Luscious and Shiny Hair

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Mix all the ingredients together and apply over unwashed hair. Let the mixture sit on your strands minimum for 30 minutes followed by washing it as usual.

#2 Beer Rinsing

The malt present in your hair is really amazing to make your hair shine and silky so that they can be combed easily. Apple cider vinegar is added to beer to wash away any product that gets built up in your hair.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup beer
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

Mix up both the ingredients well. Wash your hair and apply the mix on them. Let it sit for 5 minutes followed by rinsing as usual. Make sure that you wash your strands with lukewarm water for effective cleaning.

#3 Avocados

Avocados are not only healthy food to eat, but also bliss for your hair. It makes for an excellent hair mask.

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Mash the avocado and mix it in the olive oil. Apply it gently on the damp hair. Cover your strands with a shower cap. Let the mix sit for at least 20 minutes. Rinse it off well so that no residue is left in the hair. It will make your hair utterly healthier and lustrous.

#4 Yogurt

This one is particularly for oily hair to squelch that extra oil. Too much oil in your hair will cause acne on your face and body.

Ingredients:

  • 5 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Blend all the ingredients and apply on the hair, especially throughout roots. Allow the mix to stay on your hair for ½ an hour. Then, wash off as usual.

Tip- Don’t use it more than once a week, as using it often will leave your hair dry and frizzy.

#5 Bananas

Bananas are certainly the complete food for your hair. They not only make your hair healthier, but also leave them shiny and manageable.

Ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp natural yogurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey

Mash bananas in a bowl. Whisk egg whites in a separate bowl. Now, add all the remaining ingredients to the mashed bananas followed by egg white. Apply the paste as a mask, but only after rinsing your hair as usual. Cover it up with a shower cap and let it sit in your hair for around 20 minutes. Rinse your hair and make sure to comb finely so that no residue is left in your hair.

#6 Fix for Dry and Brittle Hair

Now, this one is bliss for dry and brittle hair that tends to break easily and faster.

Ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Honey

For every half a cup of mayonnaise, you require 2 tbsp of honey.

Mix both mayonnaise and honey. Apply the mixture into your hair and let it be there for an hour. Rinse as usual with shampoo (you might require more of shampoo to get rid of mayonnaise properly).

Tip- Don’t use a conditioner as this mask itself will condition your hair.
